Tough One vs Titans

It was clear early on that it was going to be a tough game for the Energy.  The BC Titans pushed out to a double digit in the first quarter lead by there big man W. Marshall and point guard Avery Smith.

The Energy battled back and with a steal and a dunk from Andrew Parker the lead was cut to 2 at the end of the first.  It was a back and forth affair in the second and with big contributions from Steve Sir and Benson Callier the Energy were able to take a 2 point lead into the break.

The Titans came out with a flurry in the third and made big shot after big shot regaining the lead and pushing it to a 17 point gap near the end of the period.  The Energy mustered a run in the final 2 minutes to cut the deficit to 6, trailing 92-86.

In the fourth the Energy mounted runs but they were matched by the Titans.  At points the Energy were able to trim the lead to as few as 2 but were never able to regain the lead.

It was too little to late, as the Energy fell 126-118.

The Energy were led by Steve Sir with 32 points and 7 rebounds and a big double double from Benson Callier with 26 points and 15 rebounds.

The Titans had several players in double figures led by JR Morris with 26 and Avery Smith with 20.

The rubber match of the series goes tomorrow at 2pm at the University of Alberta main gym.
