Energy take 2 of 3 against Yamhill

After winning the first two games of the series against the Yamhill Highflyers on Thursday and Friday night (by quite large margins), the Energy were unable to complete the sweep on Saturday night at the U of A. Despite being up 10 points at one time in the game, the Energy fell to the roster-depleted Yamhill Highflyers 128-126.

“Their guys just wanted it more than us tonight, they came out hungry” said Energy Coach Paul Sir, “It’s that simple.”

The Energy’s starting PG William Funn, and SG Steve Sir had strong performances in Saturday night’s loss. Funn recorded yet another triple-double, with a monstrous stat line of 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 14 assists. While, the sharp-shooting Steve Sir had 21 points and 7 rebounds.

Although the Energy were not able to hold on for the win on Saturday night in sweeping style, the team has now recorded 4 consecutive home series wins in the 2010 regular season (3-0 vs. Tacoma, 2-1 vs. BC, 2-1 vs. Bellingham, and 2-1 vs. Yamhill).

The Energy will look to extend this streak to 5 in a very important home series next weekend against the visiting Los Angeles Lightning, who are sitting in 1st in the highly-competitive Continental Division. This will be the last three games of the regular season for the Energy.
