TWO MORE PLAYERS ADDED TO THE ROSTER
- Edmonton ENERGY invites Shand & Broadus
Edmonton – April 12, 2009 At least two players have been invited to join the Edmonton Energy of the International Basketball League.
After a series of workouts Saturday (April 11th) at Louis St. Laurent High School (Edmonton), Energy head coach Paul Sir made offers to 6-foot-10 pivot Kevin Shand and speedy guard William Broadus, whose brother Rashaun was a standout for Edmonton in the IBL last season.
"William played well enough to go to the next level with us," Sir said, "but he still needs to demonstrate he can play consistently in the league."
Among Saturday’s highlights was the good conditioning shown by holdovers J.R. Patrick and Alex Steele. "They look good," Sir said. "After last year, we know what to expect from them."
Five other players at the camp have been invited to be part of a practice roster. "They’ll let us know next week if they want to, and can, accept," said the coach.
The Energy season opens May 2 and 3 with visits to the Los Angeles Lightning.
