Energy pulls the Tabb into Edmonton

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE- April 23, 2009

Edmonton– The Edmonton Energy today announced that forward Michael Tabb will join the Edmonton Energy. Introduced at this morning’s media conference, Tabb revealed his unique introduction to professional basketball.

"I was fooling around with some friends when somebody from the NBA was watching," he said after joining his new International Basketball League team Thursday morning.

"I was about 20 then. They thought I looked good so they invited me to try out. I had a look with the Chicago Bulls and the New Jersey Nets . . . only a little one, but it was good for me."

Having the 27-year-old speedster on hand has also been good for three IBL teams and one in the ABA as well as franchises in Mexico, Japan and Argentina.

"I’ve never been in Canada before, but I’m looking forward to my time in Edmonton."

Head coach Paul Sir said Tabb provides speed, game knowledge, playmaking and shooting ability and a talent for fitting with team-mates. "I looked at a lot of players who had four of those ingredients; Michael has all five."
